Our Musicians

  • Nathan Kalish & Jessica Pounds

Nathan Kalish is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer, and wandering storyteller. Born in Milwaukee, WI, to missionary parents, he was moved around for most of his formative years. By the time Kalish had graduated high school, he had already lived all over the Midwest, as well as Western Europe and directly after the wall fell in Eastern Europe.” He then spent over a decade performing music across both, playing bars and Honky-Tonks for 200+ shows a year. Now he lives and creates in Nashville, TN.

Nathan’s extensive back catalog of independent releases and hard-touring work ethic has landed him on stages with Lucinda Williams, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Lucero and many other current and legacy acts. As a result, he’s earned accolades from Rolling Stone Country, Billboard, American Songwriter, Saving Country Music, and several other international press outlets. In addition, his writing has been compared to Tom Petty, John Prine, Gram Parsons, and Paul Westerberg.

Jessica Pounds is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville, originally from Jacksonville, Florida. Her music blends elements of contemporary indie folk, traditional country, and chamber music-inspired arrangements, resulting in a sound that is both emotive and intricate. Drawing from a diverse range of influences, Jessica creates music that is both eclectic and authentic. Jessica's introspective lyrics explore themes of personal growth, relationships, and self-reflection, incorporating elements of traditional folk and country music while also pushing the boundaries of genre and convention.

As a touring musician, Pounds has been steadily building her fanbase throughout the Southeast and beyond. Since beginning to tour more frequently in the past year, she has performed and hosted a showcase at Folk Alliance International and appeared at various venues around the Southeast. Pounds has also joined Nathan Kalish on European tours as a backing and guest vocalist. Jessica has more releases planned for the near future, and continues to create music that is both innovative and deeply meaningful. Her distinctive voice and lyrical prowess have been well-received by listeners, and her live performances showcase her genuine passion for music-making.

  • The Chad Dean & Tim Ruffo Outlaw Show

Tim Ruffo has opened up for Trace Adkins, Gretchen Wilson, Eddie Money, and Joe Nichols as well as playing shows with Bloodshot artists The Deadstring Brothers and Whitey Morgan and the 78’s. Tim’s latest adventure was writing and recording the theme song for the movie “Showdown in Yesteryear”. The music video was released in July 2022 featuring the song and clips of the movie. Tim is always busy, and these days he’s doing mostly solo shows or working in the studio.

Chad Dean has been a fixture in the Central New York and Southern Tier music scene for years as one of the top session players and drumming instructors. Dean is currently performing throughout Central NY and the Southern Tier with Digger Jones and the outlaw country trio Hummel's Jug. In addition to maintaining a busy schedule of live performance, and studio sessions, Dean is also the owner of the Chad J Dean School of Drumming, and owner/operator of Backbone Audio, a live-room recording studio in Whitney Point, NY.
